I got a chance to borrow my boss’ 3G data card and brought with me to Bicol for the long break. I used my Smart prepaid SIM card to connect to the internet. So far the performance is very nice with minor disconnection when the signals gets too low. Here are the technical details:
Max Speed: 384Kbps (3G), 57Kbps (GPRS)
Speakeasy.net Speed Test.

It’s pretty impressive and a good alternative to Globe’s HSDPA service. Although for heavy users, Smart’s 10 Pesos per 30 minutes will set up back around PhP 3000.00 per month for 5hours/day of internet access.

LAMP is an open source web development platform, a software stack, used together to run dynamic websites. The acronym LAMP stands for: Linux (L), Apache HTTP Server (A), MySQL (M), PHP or Perl or Python (P). The acronym was coined by Michael Kunze coined in an article for the German computing magazine.
I admit that the title kind of confusing and most people would say that running LAMP on Windows is impractical since there are packages that are specifically designed to run on Windows platform like XAMPP. However, I just feel that running XAMP puts a heavy load on work station. I tried it, for me it runs slow. Though it works, I still enjoy working on Linux commandline as most geeks are. I’m a LAMP specifically Linux fan (dual boot - Windows and Ubuntu ) but my work requires me to use Windows.

The fire alarm in our building rung for about 12 minutes causing us to pack our things and get ready to take the stair. We were about to go out of our unit when one of the building guys told us that someone unknowingly hit the fire alam button thinking that it was for a door bell. Thank God, the building is not on fire! I don’t wanna get barbecued. I’m not yet ready!
At least now, I know that our building’s fire alam is working. That’s a good thing. I wonder what will happen to the one responsible? Any guess?

Ok, at first I was into believing that this is really a new offering. I was stunned, surprised and well whatever feeling everyone has when Google releases a new product. It turned out that this is an April Fool’s Day joke! Geesssh!

It’s quite a while since the last post I’ve made. Currently on blog-hibernation and cooking up some exciting stuff. I’m into buying interesting domains lately. Hopefully, I can make use some of these domains for delivering contents and services. I’m starting to be come a technopreneur! I’ve had too much of coding/debugging already. It’s time to explore new (but related) posibilities.
